چکیده

The key function of plant growth regulators is to adjust the and development plants adapt changing environment, which plays a vital role in yield crops. This study was aimed evaluate ability foliar application salicylic acid (SA) abscisic (ABA) regulate rice (Oryza sativa L.) quality at seedling stage reproductive stage. two cultivars Wanshengyoutianhong-4 (W4) Huanghuazhan (HZ) were sprayed with SA (100 mg L-1) ABA (4 two-leaf stage, their effects on morphological growth, physiological characteristics, malondialdehyde (MDA), osmotic substances, protective enzyme activities, photosynthesis components studied. Results indicated that significantly increased antioxidant activities; MDA content dropped (p < 0.05) W4. While inhibited characteristics HZ. Additionally, net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, water use efficiency apparent mesophyll conductance improved both heading as well grain weight. In conclusion, spray enhanced induced an increase activities reduced oxidative damage hybrid cultivar but not conventional Meanwhile, photosynthetic parameters weight slightly These results served theoretical basis technical support for chemical regulation cultivation practices rice.

Salicylic acid antagonizes abscisic acid inhibition of shoot growth and cell cycle progression in rice

We analysed effects of abscisic acid (ABA, a negative regulatory hormone), alone and in combination with positive or neutral hormones, including salicylic acid (SA), on rice growth and expression of cell cycle-related genes. ABA significantly inhibited shoot growth and induced expression of OsKRP4, OsKRP5, and OsKRP6. A yeast two-hybrid assay showed that OsKRP4, OsKRP5, and OsKRP6 interacted wi...

Effects of Priming with Salicylic Acid on Safflower Seedlings Photosynthesis and Related Physiological Parameters

Generally, primed seeds produce larger and heavier plants than non-primed seeds. This may be simply due to rapid emergence and extension of leaf growth, or the influence of other physiological processes. The effect of seed pretreatment with salicylic acid (SA) on some physiological and photosynthetic characteristics of the safflower seedlings, cv. Goldasht, was examined under field condition. T...

Effects of Exogenous Salicylic Acid Application on Growth, Metabolic Activities and Essential Oil Composition of Satureja khuzistanica Jamzad

Background: Satureja khuzistanica Jamzad, with the common Persian name “marzeh khuzestani”, is an endemic medicinal plant, distributed in the southwestern areas of Iran. Salicylic acid (SA) is a signaling molecule and a hormone-like substance that plays an important role in the plant physiological processes. Objective: This study was conducted to determine the influence of foliar SA applicatio...
